Editorial principles
- Separate actions clearly: cancel, refund, return, delete account, free trial, booking, and stop-charge pages should not be mixed together.
- Use plain steps and neutral wording instead of pressure, fake urgency, or guaranteed outcomes.
- Show the official source link and remind readers that policies can change.
- Do not claim affiliation with listed companies unless it is clearly true.
- Do not use a generic help-center homepage as evidence for a specific policy claim.
- Do not publish invented personal experience, test results, support conversations, or outcomes.
Research and drafting workflow
- Identify the company and the party that actually controls billing or the requested action.
- Save an action-specific official URL and record the review date.
- Separate confirmed policy from practical preparation advice and clearly label uncertainty.
- Use software-assisted checks where useful for organization, duplicate wording, link review, and draft preparation.
- Take editorial responsibility for the final wording, source label, indexing decision, and correction path.
Authorship
“CancelWise Editorial Desk” is an organizational byline for pages produced and maintained by the independently operated site. It is not a claim that a large newsroom, law firm, bank, or company support team wrote the page. Named authors will be identified separately when applicable.
Verification labels
“Policy checked” requires a specific official page that supports the action. A root support page, broken URL, or unrelated policy is insufficient. Guides without adequate evidence are marked “Needs official source,” excluded from the XML sitemap, and set to noindex until reviewed.
Corrections and material updates
Material corrections update the page text, source status, and review date. A writing or design refresh alone does not change the source-verification date. Reports are reviewed through the published corrections process.
Limitations
CancelWise is not legal, financial, tax, or account-recovery advice. Visitors should use official channels and their own bank, card issuer, carrier, or provider when money or account access is involved.
