Bank card recurring payment billing help

A recurring card payment is usually controlled by the merchant, but your bank or card issuer can explain stop-payment, dispute, and card-replacement options.

Where to check

  • Check the exact statement descriptor, amount, date, and card used.
  • Search email for receipts matching the amount and date.
  • Call the bank using the number on your card if the merchant cannot be identified.

Where to cancel

  • Cancel with the merchant when known.
  • Ask your bank or card issuer about blocking future recurring charges or disputing unauthorized charges.

Refund or review route

  • Ask the merchant for a refund first when you recognize it. If unauthorized or unresolved, ask the bank/card issuer about dispute options.

Proof to save

  • Statement screenshot
  • Merchant messages
  • Cancellation proof
  • Dates of attempted cancellation
  • Bank case number

Warnings

  • Do not rely only on deleting an app or replacing a card without asking the bank what happens to recurring merchant tokens.
  • This is general information, not legal advice.
